In 2009 a classmate, Megan Waldorf, and I did a class project at college about the money system in America. I thought I would be able to find out why the recession happened and my dad lost his job. I found much, much more than that.

After the class project I decided to help put together a film of some of the things I found out. I studied web site after web site, news archive after archive, talked with many, many educational minds and much more. These facts are just that, facts. I feel that if each and every citizen knew these things, America would be a different place. One of true freedom and equality.

Owners of America started as a class project for Emily and Megan. Along the way they learned some very important facts they thought you should know. This is the journey of Emily and Megan as they research how the money system works in America and the causes of the economy collapse in 2008. Emily’s father has just lost his job and made her easy college life turn into a challenge. As she struggles with her life at home and at school, she undertakes a school project looking into why these hard times have come upon them. Megan agrees that they should do the project on money and the economic collapse. From the gas shortage that summer to record breaking stimulus packages…to the fall of the American Empire as we know it.
